Sliced up the broccoli stems and am attempting to brine pickle them, using the last of the donated sauerkraut as a kickstarter.
Had to throw out the foraged pink-gilled mushrooms after reading that the yellow discoloration could indicate the mildly toxic Agaricus Californicus. No need to intoxicate myself more than I already do.
